Huey Ride Waiver

The aircraft in which you are about to fly is owned or operated by RS Aviation, LLC a Limited Liability Company that buys and sells aircraft. This aircraft is a Bell Helicopter Corporation UH-1 “Huey” helicopter. This aircraft was originally manufactured for the U.S. Army and now operated by RS Aviation, LLC. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has authorized the RS Aviation, LLC to operate the UH-1 “Huey” for flight with passengers under exemption from the requirements of FAR 91.319, 119.5(g), and 119.21(a). This aircraft is certificated by the FAA in the Experimental Exhibition airworthiness category. The following is the significance of an Experimental Airworthiness certification compared to an aircraft that operates with an FAA issued Standard Airworthiness certification:

The FAA has not established, nor has it approved, experimental category airworthiness certificated aircraft manufacturing standards. In contrast, standard category airworthiness certificated aircraft are manufactured to FAA approved standards, including standards addressing the design of the aircraft and life limited parts.

An aircraft may be issued an experimental airworthiness certificate when the –

1. Builder of the aircraft submits a statement that sets forth the purpose for which the aircraft is to be used;

2. Builder of the aircraft submits enough data to identify the aircraft;

3. Builder of the aircraft submits information found necessary to safeguard the public; and

4. FAA finds the fabrication and assembling of the aircraft complies with acceptable aeronautical standards and practices.

    Standard category airworthiness certificates are issued for an aircraft when the FAA finds the –

    – Aircraft has been built and maintained in accordance with that aircraft’s type certification standards as established by the

    FAA; and

    -Aircraft’s inspection and maintenance requirements are in compliance with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
